Attorney John R. Grasso is admitted to practice law in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and the Federal District Courts, and is a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. He has represented criminal defendants charged with misdemeanor and felony crimes in the Rhode Island District and Superior Courts, Traffic Tribunal, and Massachusetts District Courts.

Education and Experience

Grasso is a magna cum laude graduate of Roger Williams University School of Law where he earned honors in Advanced Legal Writing, Military Law, Judicial Process and Ethics and Trial Advocacy. He has a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Studies from Roger Williams University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Providence College in 1988. In 2010, Grasso was sworn in as a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. Grasso was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve and was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain.

Prior to law school, Grasso was a member of the Cranston Rhode Island Police Department where he served as a patrolman, member of the Department’s Special Reaction Team and Underwater Recovery Team. As a former police officer, Grasso understands the search and seizure issues that affect DUI arrests, and the process the police must follow to make a legal DUI stop and subsequent arrest.Grasso is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, American Bar Association, Rhode Island Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and graduate of the National Criminal Defense College.
