Title IX: Johnson & Wales University

Rhode Island Police arrested and charged several international JWU students with first and second degree rape arising from a vague and misleading accusation. The district court held all of the students in jail without bail pending a bail violation hearing. Attorney Grasso and a team of attorneys quickly and aggressively investigated and prepared for the bail violation hearing. At the same, Attorney Grasso was able to persuade University officials to hold off on its own investigation. After a full evidentiary hearing in the district court, the credibility of the accuser was exposed and the court released each of the students. With the evidence from the bail hearing in hand, Attorney Grasso went to the University Title IX officials and the investigation was terminated.

The Result – Baiul Granted/Case Dismissed/No Student Conduct Violation.
