Rhode Island Man Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Charges

PROVIDENCE, R.I.—A Rhode Island man has pleaded guilty to possessing more than 7,500 images of child pornography.

Federal prosecutors say 67-year-old Leon Tousignant of North Kingstown, R.I. pleaded guilty in federal court in Providence Tuesday. He faces up to 10 years in federal prison.

Authorities say Tousignant’s roommate found more than 600 images of child pornography on Tousignant’s laptop computer. Investigators later found a computer drive containing several thousand additional images. Authorities say the images depicted minors younger than 12.

Tousignant also faces fines up to $250,000. He is scheduled to be sentenced in March.”
