Woonsocket Man Pleads Guilty to Selling Crack Cocaine

“PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A Rhode Island man has pleaded guilty to charges he sold crack cocaine from his Woonsocket auto repair business.

Prosecutors said Tuesday that 46-year-old Pablo Marino Chala, of Woonsocket, pleaded guilty to multiple counts of distribution of crack cocaine in U.S. District Court in Providence.

Prosecutors say Chala sold crack cocaine at least three different times from his auto repair shop between January and June 2011. They say police and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Agents observed the transactions.

Prosecutors say Chala has been detained since his arrest in June. They say he faces a minimum prison term of five years and a maximum punishment of 80 years in prison when he is sentenced on May 3.”
