Two Charged With Pot Cultivation, Delivery

“HOPKINTON — Two men were arrested on charges of delivery and cultivation of marijuana after an investigation between Richmond and Hopkinton police.

Officers from both departments arrested Shiloh Petrichko, 34, of 15 Deer Run Road, Carolina, and John Nadolny, 34, of 560 Rose Hill Road, South Kingstown, on Thursday.

Hopkinton Police Chief David Palmer said over the past two weeks, Hopkinton Police Det. Ryan Percival and Patrolman Keith Lambrechts conducted an investigation into the alleged illegal distribution of marijuana.

Hopkinton police seized approximately 2 ounces of what appeared to be marijuana from a car being driven by Petrichko. Nadolny was his only passenger, according to police reports.

Police said both men presented medical marijuana cards, but said they had evidence that the men were not delivering marijuana to a medical marijuana cardholder.

Both were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and delivery and conspiracy to deliver marijuana.

Police said Petrichko also presented a marijuana caretakers license, which allows him to possess up to 36 marijuana plants; 24 mature and 12 seedlings, as well as 5 ounces of harvested (dried) marijuana.

Both Hopkinton and Richmond detectives had information that Petrichko’s residence, located at 15 Deer Run Road, exceeded the amount allowed by Rhode Island General Law.

At about 5 p.m., Richmond and Hopkinton police conducted a court-authorized search and confiscated 66 marijuana plants; 34 mature, 32 seedlings, 15 ounces of harvested marijuana, along with marijuana growing equipment. Based on the alleged violation, Richmond Police also charged Petrichko with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

Both men were arraigned at the Hopkinton police station by a Justice of the Peace and were released pending a Fourth Division District Court appearance in Wakefield on April 3.”
