RI Man Who Beat Infant Sentenced to Five Years

A Burrillville man was sentenced to five years in the Adult Correctional Institution after pleading guilty to second-degree child abuse.

According to an article written by Tracy Breton in the Providence Journal:

“The assault on the baby occurred in the early morning hours of March 19, 2011, while the baby’s mother was out. In addition to the fractured skull, the infant’s tibia was fractured and she suffered bruises on her face, neck and back.”

Matthew Maynard, in addition to serving five years in prison, is also prohibited from contacting his daughter for ten years and is required to undergo court-ordered anger management.
