Johnston Man Ordered Held Without Bail After Assaulting His Girlfriend

“JOHNSTON, R.I. — A 26-year-old man was ordered held without bail on a charge of violating his probation Monday after being accused of repeatedly hitting his girlfriend with clenched fists while she was driving him to his cousin’s home in Providence.

Marissa Marfeo, his girlfriend of eight months, told the police that David A. Law, of 345 Simmonsville Ave., during the drive on Feb. 10, argued with his girlfriend, took her cell phone from her pocket, struck her several times in the face with his fists and, when she stopped the car, dragged her out of the vehicle and took the wheel.

Law, who was convicted of domestic assault twice before, was apprehended by the state police.”
