Cranston Police Arrest Man with Drugs, Gun

“CRANSTON, R.I. — The Cranston police said they caught a man with a loaded gun and bags of cocaine riding a bicycle along Dyer Avenue on Friday.

Just after midnight, Roger Rezendes, 21, attracted the attention of Officers Dennis Trinh and Ross Manzotti when they saw him pedaling fast onto Dyer Avenue and looking back at their cruiser. There had been break-ins in the area, so the officers stopped his bicycle, police said.

After questioning Rezendes, the officers searched him and found a loaded .35-caliber revolver with obliterated serial numbers, $224, and 25 bags of cocaine, according to a police report.

Rezendes, of 575 Dyer Ave., Apt. 44D, was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, alteration of marks on a firearm, and drug dealing.”
